Art Kirsch & John Coleman talk with Dan Predoehl, Dean of Saddleback College’s Emeritus Institute, offering extended learning classes designed for seniors. The discussion is about the benefits of lifelong learning to individuals as well as the wide variety of subjects available. Dan also speaks to the national availability of extended learning for seniors through community college systems and others. He gives a nice overview of the education industry in the US and how it is serving the senior community. It’s an eye-opening interview which reveals support for myriad health and lifestyle choices and activities aimed at seniors (and often free!) via your local education system. For those who have not been aware of these kinds of programs this will be an important resource.
