In a special presentation at Cinecon 58, archivist, author and film collector Mark Cantor screened a number of old “Soundies” from the 1940s and 1950s. Manny Pacheco interviewed Mark who explained that for a short time in history, popular musical performances were filmed for use in a video jukebox. These now rare short films are gems of music and musicians of the time.
